Wandiligong

  • 5 kilometres from Bright along the Great Alpine Road

 

While in Bright, take the beautiful river walk or ride your bike to the preserved village of Wandiligong, only 5 kilometres away.

Once buoyed by agriculture and the gold rush, the whole of Wandiligong is now registered with the National Trust. Wandiligong is full of quaint little buildings, including miners’ cottages, the Manchester Unity Hall of 1874 and the town’s century-old general store.

  • Enjoy a meal or a beer at the Wandi pub while savouring the majestic views
  • Walk through the historic Diggings where you can discover the Chinese swing bridge
  • Take the kids to the Wandi Maze, Australia’s largest living hedge maze. They will enjoy hours of fun while you relax and enjoy a coffee
  • Visit Nightingales Apple Orchard and weekdays you can visit the shed shop which of course sells delicious alpine apples
  • Visit the tea rooms for an indulgent Devonsire Tea and a spot of antique shopping.
